I LOVE YOU IS DANGEROUS
I love you. As beautiful as those words may sound, never believe them so easily especially coming from anyone below the age of forty.
Well, for we Millennials, *Young people of this age, 25-40* the sentence I love you has lost its meaning and usage. In today's age of digital civilization and awareness, the words I love you is a phraseology of Pop-culture.
Here are 4 reasons believing I love you could be very dangerous.
1. I love you is COMMONPLACE: It is an expression that appears in many places. It is not new or interesting. We hear it on radio, TV, movies, books. Chats, WhatsApp status, smileys even at concerts (Celebrities screams it to their anonymous fans), in the end, it is just something people say when they feel good.
2. I love you is IGNORANCE: Millennials think they know so much. *Well, blame it on Google* Ironically, we do not have an understanding of most of the things we think we know. We appear to love everything around us, our phones, pets, cars, charger, clothes....*anything you can think of * Sadly for us, the English language does not provide words for each of the four types of love. For us, love is just love whereas, love isn't loved.
3. I love you is a HABIT: We happen to say it to people we see and relate with all the time. I just slip out of our lips without any thought.
E.g. Me:Hi Mary, pls help bring my
charger when coming
Mary: Oh. I just left the house
Me: Please now....thank you, you know I love you. Bye
